Meet Karen!
I’ve been part of Sunbeam’s DSO team for the past four years. As a DSO Assessor, I enjoy meeting new people every month and walking alongside them through the application process—getting to know what matters most to them, from their likes and dislikes to their hopes, dreams, and the supports they need to build their future.
After nearly 40 years in social services, it’s a genuine pleasure to be part of a team that supports one another every day—both in getting the work done and, more importantly, as thoughtful and caring colleagues.
Outside of work, I’m all about fresh air and family time. You’ll often find me camping and enjoying the outdoors with my husband, our schnauzers, and our three adult children, and daughter-in-law when they can join us. I also like trying out new hobbies—especially stained glass, which has become my current favourite.
