Meet Matthew!

Matthew has called Sunbeam home since 2017 and moved to a new neighbourhood that he enjoys very much. He likes connecting with others through eye contact, high fives, and friendly head nods. He appreciates the welcoming neighbours near his home and enjoys strolling along nearby nature trails while admiring the gardens he passes.

Matthew loves spending time outdoors with the people who are important to him. Some of his favourite activities include hikes, country drives, mall walks, park picnics, and beach visits. This summer, he also enjoyed horseback riding at Pride Stables and spending a few days relaxing at a cottage.

Matthew enjoys experiencing the world through his senses. Flowers, freshly washed hair, and visits to Bath & Body Works are among his favourite scents. At home, he enjoys visual activities such as watching fish and sea life, virtual walks, roller coaster videos, and his favourite visual timer.

Family is very important to Matthew, and he enjoys spending quality time with loved ones. He also likes bowling, swimming, and playing water games. One of his recent highlights was celebrating his birthday with family and support staff at a backyard picnic, where everyone enjoyed taking photos and creating special memories together.

Matthew proudly displays photos from his adventures on his “Wall of Fame” and enjoys looking back on the many experiences he has shared with family, friends, and support staff. He looks forward to creating many more memories and enjoying new experiences in the future.
