Meet Darcy!

Darcy is one of Sunbeam’s newest board members having joined this year! Darcy brings strong advocacy for inclusivity inspired by his personal experience as a parent of an individual with a neurological disorder. His daughter lives with Rett Syndrome, and Darcy has a rich history of involvement in the community, having spent 11 years as a Board Member, Chair of the Fundraising Committee, and Secretary for the Ontario Rett Syndrome Association (O.R.S.A.).

With 30 years of experience in the agriculture and food industry, Darcy has transitioned from a farm labourer to a food inspector, food plant manager, and ultimately the operations manager of multi-facility Bio-Gas plants. His expertise in compliance and quality assurance is a valuable asset to Sunbeam’s Board of Directors.

A graduate of the University of Manitoba Faculty of Agriculture, Darcy also enjoys tending to his vegetable garden in his spare time. His specialty? Growing tomatoes and hot peppers, which he turns into world-class salsa and tomato sauce!
