Hospital Care Program: The Platinum Rule

Kelly, a member of our Hospital Care team, calls this “The Platinum Rule.” It’s a mindset that goes beyond routine care to truly understand each person, their comfort, communication, and dignity. By having Sunbeam staff accompany individuals we support while in hospital, it provides a familiar, reassuring presence which makes a world of difference to improving the hospital stay experience.

When a person we support is in the hospital, our team helps bridge the gap between hospital clinicians and personal care. As Kelly says, “Bringing home to the hospital makes care safer and less scary.”

Through familiar faces, consistent support, and compassionate advocacy, the Hospital Care Program ensures every hospital stay feels less overwhelming and more human.
