National Social Work Week

Throughout Ontario, over 25,000 social workers deliver compassion, deep expertise, and collaborative support to communities in every region.

This March, join us in honouring the profound difference Ontario’s social workers make in our daily lives!

The theme this year highlights the core elements that power social work: empathy, expertise, and partnership in action. Each element shines individually, but combined, they capture the profession’s remarkable capacity to merge heartfelt compassion with sharp analysis and real-world insight.

Social workers form the largest body of mental health professionals in Ontario and across Canada. They provide person-centred, trauma-informed care deeply rooted in people’s actual experiences. Their guidance draws from advanced training, evidence-based methods, and a thorough grasp of the social determinants that shape health and well-being.

At the center lies partnership—the collaborative, client-directed relationships that spark real, lasting change. This year’s campaign celebrates the trust, skill, and genuine humanity that social workers bring to every community, and the powerful impact created when caring insight unites with thoughtful action.
