Meet Axol!

Axol has been supported by Sunbeam’s TAY/HFH program since 2020. In 2024, Axol was ready to move on from their small rural community to a new community in Halton for a fresh start. Since then, Axol has adapted to living with roommates, navigating a larger city, and so much more. This winter, Axol worked with their staff supports to develop a resume and apply for volunteer positions. Axol has now secured a volunteering position at a local thrift store. Axol has been volunteering 5 days a week and has received nothing but positive feedback from their supervisors. So much positive feedback that they are currently working on transitioning to a paid position. Congratulations, Axol, we are so proud of you!

It’s not all work and no play for Axol – they also love playing video games, spending time outside with animals, and working out in the gym. Axol is always the first person to offer a compliment or a helping hand, and their smile brightens every room!
