Meet Simona

This month, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Simona, one of our incredible Direct Support Professionals at Sunbeam.

For the past four years, Simona has been supporting people to live their best lives by encouraging independence, building meaningful relationships, and helping create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and supported.

When asked what she loves most about her role, her answer was simple, it’s the people. Simona enjoys getting to know those she supports, sharing everyday moments, and making a positive difference, no matter how big or small. Seeing someone smile or knowing she’s helped brighten their day is what makes her work so rewarding.

One of Simona’s favourite Sunbeam memories is the welcome barbecue at Champlain following the renovations. It was a special day that brought together people supported and team members from different homes to connect, celebrate, and enjoy each other’s company.

Outside of work, Simona is a proud grandma to two energetic grandsons. She loves spending time with them at the park, playing hide-and-seek, and making memories they’ll all cherish for years to come.
