Mikayla takes home first place at CanFASD Art Competition! 

Sunbeam is excited to share that one of its youth, Mikayla, took home first place in the CanFASD Art Competition. This is the eighth year for the competition – an annual initiative that celebrates the creativity of Canadians with FASD. 

Mikayla’s painting is inspired by her love for ice skating and the holiday season. 

“I’m currently in grade 12 attending online school. After I graduate my dream is to get my bachelor’s degree of design in order to become an interior designer internationally. I want to design homes in Venice, Italy by the canal.” – Mikayla 

Since 2016, CanFASD has been hosting an art competition for individuals with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD).  

The competition draws an overwhelming number of submissions from across the country.
