Meet Gurnek!

Gurnek is often described as fun, energetic, and a social butterfly. He is also soft-spoken, polite, kind, and loves talking about his interests. Gurnek has been living at Sunbeam Community and Developmental Services since June 2024 and is really enjoying his time here!

He loves being read to and is always eager to learn new things. One of Gurnek’s big dreams is to become a scientist, engineer, or have a job related to dinosaurs, as he is absolutely fascinated by them! He also has some adventurous goals: he hopes to visit outer space, explore the oceans, swim with sharks, watch the Olympics live, or experience a “Night at the Museum” when everything comes to life.

If Gurnek could meet anyone, he would love to chat with a professional hockey player, especially Sidney Crosby, ask a scientist all his questions, particularly his neurologist, meet J.K. Rowling, hang out with Harry Potter, meet an Egyptian mummy, or even travel back in time to see real-life dinosaurs. And of course, Gurnek would love to have a pet — how cool would it be to have a pet dinosaur?

A fun fact about Gurnek: he can name all the planets in our solar system! He enjoys going to sporting events, dining out at restaurants, visiting museums and zoos, watching movies, and spending time outdoors in nature. Gurnek also enjoys watching his favourite show on his iPad or TV, and going to school is something he looks forward to, as there are so many fun activities!
