Meet Jackie!
I have proudly worked at Sunbeam for 26 years in an administrative role, where I am often the first point of contact for individuals and families seeking services and supports through the Sunbeam Developmental Resource Centre (SDRC) department. In my position, I assist with inquiries, provide information, help guide people through next steps, and ensure they feel welcomed from the very first interaction. Being that initial connection is something I take great pride in, as it sets the tone for their experience with our organization.
What I enjoy most about working at Sunbeam is knowing that the work we do truly makes a difference in people’s lives. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with so many individuals and families, and it’s incredibly rewarding to help them access the supports they need.
One of my most memorable experiences at Sunbeam has been seeing individuals and families come full circle—reaching out for support during challenging times and later seeing how services have positively impacted their lives.
I have also watched Sunbeam grow and evolve, and although change can be difficult, it has been one of the most meaningful parts of my journey.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and can often be found in my kitchen. I’m a self-taught cook who loves trying new recipes and creating meals to share with friends. I’m also a huge hockey fan and rarely miss the chance to cheer on my favourite team.
I’m grateful to be part of the Sunbeam Community and look forward to continuing to support those who reach out to us.
And we are grateful to have you with us, Jackie. Thanks for your dedication and passion for our community.
