World Autism Day

On April 2, 2026, Sunbeam Community and Developmental Services joins the global community in observing World Autism Awareness Day. This annual United Nations-designated observance highlights the importance of understanding, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.

At Sunbeam, we remain committed to supporting people living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and developmental disabilities through our Developmental Resource Centre. Our services—including behaviour consultation, speech and social work supports, Applied Behaviour Analysis, family services via the Ontario Autism Program, and coordination services—help connect individuals and caregivers to essential community resources, fostering independence, growth, and belonging.

This year, as the world continues building on themes of neurodiversity and equity, we celebrate the unique strengths, perspectives, and contributions of autistic individuals. By promoting awareness and advocating for accessible, inclusive opportunities, we move toward a society where everyone thrives.

Together, let’s light up blue, share stories, and commit to meaningful support—because every person deserves to shine.
