Meet Jackie!

I have been supported by Sunbeam Community and Developmental Services since August 26, 1966, and I currently live in a Sunbeam home located in Kitchener.

One of my favourite daily activities is when staff read books to me, which I really enjoy. In my free time, I like watching TV shows and movies. I am often smiling, which shows that I am happy, and I enjoy spending time with others and taking part in community events.

Some of the other activities I enjoy include hand and foot massages, Snoezelen sessions, story time, baking, nail spa days, and visits with my friends. Every week, I meet my friend for lunch and spend some time with her, which I really enjoy.

My favourite times of the year are Christmas and birthdays because I love celebrating with my staff and housemates. I also enjoy attending musicals and events happening around the city, and my support staff ensure I don’t miss them. At times, I help staff by being present in the kitchen on cooking and baking days.
