Giving Tuesday is recognized globally as a day of generosity and improving your community in some positive way and takes place on November 30th, 2021. This could be simple acts of kindness, volunteering or donating to your favorite local charity.
Ontario Trillium Foundation Supporting Sunbeam through COVID-19
Sunbeam Community & Developmental Services received a $125,000 (Resilient Communities Fund) grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation over a span of 9 months to rebuild and recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
Sunbeam’s Dental Clinic Gets a Treat from the Raymond Dietrich Memorial BBQ
Every year for the past 5 years, the Raymond Dietrich Memorial BBQ has held a fundraising event for local services that support those with disabilities. Over this past summer, they collected $14,000 in support of the renovations to our new dental clinic. We wish to thank everyone that’s been involved for their hard work and generosity!
Sunbeam Virtual 65th Anniversary Celebration
It’s been an amazing 65-year journey since Pieter and Johanna Vos welcomed their first child with developmental disabilities into their home. Fast forward to today where through their efforts, Sunbeam now has helped more than 14,000 individuals and their families.
Atreo cares! They really do!
Atreo Cares started a campaign where they would match and contribute $1 for every share of their social media post promoting Sunbeams services. Over the course of 1 month, they were able to raise $1030 to help support SDRC and Sunbeams much needed respite programs!
Acknowledging Canada’s first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
We have reached a time where reciting land acknowledgements, and wearing orange shirts are helpful reminders for us, but not sufficient action towards reconciliation. What I would encourage each of you to do is to dedicate some time to learning from Indigenous people about their history, their struggle, their successes, and their desires for how we all move forward together.
