Apple Nachos
Got a craving for a sweet treat but want something healthy too? Try a batch of apple nachos. They are easy to prepare and fun to eat. They’ll satisfy your “sweet tooth” and convince your family to choose fruit for snacks or dessert.
Ingredients:
1 apple
1 tsp peanut butter
1 tsp chocolate chips
Toppings Options:
raisins, chopped nuts, coconut, skor chips, Reese’s Pieces, M&Ms, Smarties, sprinkles
(You can make them as healthy or extravagant as you like. You are only limited by your imagination or the contents of your cupboard)
Directions:
1. Wash apple and cut into slices (keep skin on but remove core)
2. Fan apples out on plate “nacho style”
3. Melt peanut butter in microwave
4. Drizzle peanut butter over apples with spoon
(cold apples cause the melted peanut butter to return to regular peanut butter consistency)
5. Sprinkle your toppings over peanut butter and apples
6. Melt chocolate chips in microwave
7. Drizzle melted chocolate over apples, peanut butter and toppings
8. Enjoy!
(Serves one)
